Earth Day, April 22, reminds us that there is a big, beautiful, natural world out there to discover, explore and take care of. You can get a started with a visit to some of our favorite Cypress nature parks:
Little Cypress Creek Preserve Telge Road at Spring Cypress Road Cypress, TX 77429 281-353-8100 A 58-acre property with a series of 10 man-made shallow ponds designed to mature into a vibrant, functioning wetland. In addition to recreational hiking, jogging, biking, and horseback riding, the preserve is used as an educational nature area.
Telge Park 12400 Pleasant Grove Road Cypress, TX 77429 281-496-2177 Tranquil park with a wetland habitat and a creek offering nature trails, fishing and a picnic area.
Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth Park on Horsepen Creek 9118 Wheat Cross Drive Cypress, TX 77095 281-496-2177 This 180-acre park offers a day full of fun with a large lake, three-mile jogging trail, opportunities to fish and two dog parks.
Bud Hadfield Park 12405 Telge Road Cypress, TX 77429 281-496-2177 Located on 54.5 acres, Bud Hadfield Park is situated along Cypress Creek and provides a nature trail along a wetland habitat. The park can be used for fishing, disc golf, walking and picnics.
Kleb Woods Nature Center 20303 Draper Road Tomball, TX 77377 281-357-5324 The 133.5-acre preserve is acclaimed statewide for combining a bygone Texas farm culture and a forest teeming with birds, butterflies and other wildlife. The Nature Center has exhibits and an auditorium where numerous programs are offered year-round.
